a cup of Joe就是指 a cup of Coffee,
The origin of the phrase "Cup-A Joe"
When U.S. Navy Admiral Josephus (Joe) Daniels outlawed alcohol sailors switched to coffee and referred to the brew as a "cup of Joe".
1. "Sloppy Joe's...any cheap restaurant or lunch counter serving cheap food quickly, since 1940."
---Dictionary of American Slang, Wentworth & Flexner, 2nd supp. edition.
2. "...(6th definition) Sloppy Joe, sloppy joe (b) U.S. a kind of hamburger in which the minced-beef filling is made into a kind of meat sauce;...."
---Oxford English Dictionary

Joe Coffee. Josephus Daniels (18 May 1862-15 January 1948) was appointed Secretary of the Navy by President Woodrow Wilson in 1913. Among his reforms of the Navy were inaugurating the practice of making 100 Sailors from the Fleet eligible for entrance into the Naval Academy, the introduction of women into the service, and the abolishment of the officers' wine mess. From that time on, the strongest drink aboard Navy ships could only be coffee and over the years, a cup of coffee became known as "a cup of Joe".Sloppy joeThe term "sloppy" comes from the fact that eating it as if it were a normal sandwich often results in the meat and sauce spilling out. Urban legend holds that the sandwich is named for a diner owner who developed the sandwich in the 1960s.參考資料： answers.com

Joe
Lock Smith
Sloppy Joe
