1) Elizabeth Blackwell 是很僥倖才進去醫學院的 (her acceptance there was a fluke)--- 因為學校 risk 拒絕一個女性的申請, 於是他們讓學生來投票決定. 結果因為敵對學校都把這個申請當成笑話, 於是學生們就決定讓Elizabeth的申請通過, 而原來他是 unlikely candidate (未必成功的候選人).
