    天然纖維取代人造材料

    目前使用的生物纖維材料是將羊毛纖維與人工樹脂或多重聚合物以熱處理融合,缺點是這種材料無法再回收利用,最多只能當燃料,而以天然樹脂黏合的材料則可用生物方法去除樹脂黏合物,將纖維回收。

    用新技術製造的生物纖維材料以其堅韌的特性預料將可取代汽車內大部份的人造合成材料,甚至與強化的玻璃纖維相比也不惶多讓,根據測試結果將天然纖維與樹脂結合其強度可達到玻璃纖維的程度。

    德國Fraunhofer研究院應用化學聚合物研究所最近也發表了一項名為Newcell-PP-Composite的新技術,此技術將纖維素再生纖維填入由多重聚合物組成的網格中,產生的材料材質穩定,比強化玻璃纖維堅硬將近兩倍,也比一般的天然纖維材料具有更大的彈性,並且吸水降低30%,研發人員認為此種新材料將可應用於車船飛機內部耐重需求較高的物件,甚至汽車外部零件如避震器也可用其製造。
