    Occur

    vi.

    1. 發生

Earthquakes occur frequently in this area.

Do giraffes occur in Africa only?

It occurred to me to visit my teacher.

It never occurred to me that he might be in trouble.(我怎麼也沒有想到他會遇上麻煩)

A brilliant idea occurred to me.

It didn't occur to him that she would refuse his invitation.

    happen

    vi.

    A funny thing happened.

    2. 碰巧[W][+to-v]

I happened to sit by her in the cinema.

    3. 【美】碰巧來(或去);偶然出現[(+by/past/in/into)]
