If you want to study Dentistry, you will have to have very good grades to be able to get in. However, you need to check with the departments whether they will take oversea students (if you don't hold nz citizenship or permanent residency). For first year, you don't go directly into it, you have to study Health Science and all the complusory papers, of course you have to be aware that you must obtain at lest A- to A for each of them.If you are an international student, i am afraid the tuition fee is going to be very expensive, I heard that it would be around NZ$48000 per year (excluding first year health science, the four year dentistry study will cost you $192000).you only need to attend to foundation study if you don't need their basic requirement. I don't know if you have studied high school here. Otago will consider your qualification from overseas, so with that said,if your education background from Taiwan is good enough, then you don't need to spend a year or 6 months studying foundation. If you do need to study foundation course, you have to choose health science as well, this is the only path for yourself to get into health science in first year. However, dentistry department only takes about 80 to 100 students, and international students don't hold any priorities to get in for any reasons.any other enqiries, write directly to my email.
