Killingsworth was one of four Big Ten players named to the honorable mention list, while Illinois' guard Dee Brown was the lone conference player named to one of the top four teams, earning second team accolades.
Collegehoops.net's All-America was lists based on on-the-court excellence throughout the entire 2005-06 season, while also taking position and importance to their team into account. The first team All-Americans were Duke's J.J. Redick, Randy Foye of Villanova, Washington's Brandon Roy, Adam Morrison of Gonzaga and Duke's Shelden Williams. The other Big Ten players on the honorable mention list were Michigan State's Maurice Ager and Paul Davis along with Terence Dials of Ohio State.
Killingsworth also earned honorable mention Associated Press All-America. The Montgomery, Ala., native led the Hoosiers to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and a 19-12 overall record. He also topped the Hoosiers in scoring at 17.1 points per game and rebounding at 7.8 per contest.
Furthermore, he earned second team all-conference accolades from the Big Ten media and was a third team choice by the league's coaches following the conference season. Killingsworth was named to the Wooden Award Midseason All-America team as one of the top 30 finalists for the annual honor. He also garnered National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) first team All-District laurels. During the Big Ten regular season, Killingsworth became the 17th player in Big Ten history and fifth in school history to be named Big Ten Player of the Week on three occasions in a single season as he earned the honor on Nov. 21, Dec. 5 and Jan. 23.
