Some people are not fans of the holiday season, and tend to look at it with a rather jaundiced eye, having slaved for many years in the advertising business, which to be honest, will suck all of the joy out of anything.
I personally love the joyful atmosphere a lot!

I always wish people "Happy Holidaze," not out of sensitivity to non-Christians but out of sarcasm about the frantic (and often drunken) efforts to be merry and to cater to the multiple neuroses (holiday ones and other ones) of family and friends.

The date 25 December seems more a continuation of the rebirth of the sun after the winter solstice (north of the equator) than a date with any credible historical tie to Jesus, and any religious meaning of Christmas was long ago swamped by commercial machinations

The Christmas season is one that's happy for many, and sad for others. Depression is a big issue this time of year for many people who feel alone while so many others are celebrating with family.
