The art movements often change by the time. By the 1930, Art Deco had changed its form, streamline Deco and Graphic Deco were appeared. The First World War made the world economy getting worse and also ruined the cities and a large number of properties. People wanted to rebuild their houses after the First World War ended; therefore, the architecture design and the interior design had a large requirement by the market in this period of time. The new society was considered of an appropriate style can suit the new fashion; therefore, they started to look back at resent art style and found the Art Deco was the appropriate style to represent the New World.

There were many famous designers, architectures, and artists in the Art Deco period. Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann (1879-1933) was one of the remarkable designers in this period of time. Although, the best known of his work was his extravagant and luxurious furniture design, he was a full-fledged interior designer. In 1907, he took over his family business and changed the company to Etablissements Ruhlmann et Laurent and reinvented its mission; eventually, he was turning the company into one of the most remarkable design enterprises. The company was originally provided the service only based on wallpapering, painting, plastering, and the mirror glass. After he cooperates with Pierre Laurent in 1919 he adding some necessary business offices, such as design studios, showrooms, and workshops to their promises. Afterward, he starts specializing in interior design and producing luxury home goods, which included furniture, lighting, and wallpaper. Although, he lack of formal training as a designer, Ruhlmann still become a successful designer in not only furniture but also interior field.

People wanted to restore their houses right after the First World War ended; therefore, architecture designs and interior designs were largely required by the market at the time. Cities were searching for suitable art styles that will go along with their restoration ideas. As a result, designers started to look back to art styles that appeared just before the destructions of the war and chose the art styles of the Art Deco as their new approach for the new renovating cities.There were many famous designers, architectures, and artists in the Art Deco period. Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann (1879-1933) was one of the most remarkable designers in the time frame. Although he was best known for his work of extravagant and luxurious furniture designs, he was a full-fledged interior designer. In 1907, he inherited his family business and changed the business into Etablissements Ruhlmann et Laurent in order to reinvente its mission.As a result, he turned his family business into one of the most successful designing enterprises at the time.
