    保險給付金額相對於保險費收入的比例稱為醫療損失率 (Medical Loss Ratio) 。

    舉例來說,75%的醫療損失率即指保留25%的保險費作為行政管理成本與利潤,而75%則花費在醫療照護服務上。在損失率低時,則表示可保留大部份的保險費用在行政管理、經常性支出及利潤上。

    Medical loss ratio refers to the percentage of dollars actually spent on medical care versus administrative costs or profit by an HMO.

    醫療損失率指醫療照顧所用的花費 與 行政費用或保健組織的獲利的百分比。

    The higher the ratio, the more money is being spent on actual delivery of care. 比率越高,醫療照顧所花的費用就越高。

    Medical Loss Ratio: The ratio between the cost to deliver medical care and the amount of money that was taken in by a plan. Insurance companies often have a medical loss ratio of 96 percent or more: tightly managed HMOs may have medical loss ratios of 75 percent to 85 percent, although the overhead (or administrative cost ratio) is concomitantly higher.

    Medical Loss Ratio(MLR):

    保險給付金額相對於保險費收入的比例稱為醫療損失率

    保險公司通常有96%或更高的MLR。成本較緊縮的健保組織(HMO)可能有75%至85%的MLR,雖然經常費用(或行政成本比率)也會伴隨著增加。
