Zheng Chenggong "Lord with the Imperial Surname", a military leader at the end of the Chinese Ming Dynasty, was defeated by the Qing Dynasty army in 1622 and retreated to Taiwan.
Zheng succefully defeated the Dutch colonizers and claimed Taiwan as his anti-Qing base.
After the event, Taiwan came into 211 years of the Qing Dynasty rule.
Most of them were the ancestors of the contemporary Taiwanese.
