簡單地說，second moment of area就是一個物體『抵抗彎曲的能力』，

或是說你要施加多大的力量才能將它拗變形。

所以越硬越大塊的材質，second moment of area就越大。

beam section是一段樑、或任何長條形材質，

比如說鐵管、水泥樑柱、木條，都可以計算second moment of area。
