請問如何解釋battery chicken syndrome
Recently I read an article which located in the Wikipedia and the URL is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer-assisted_lan...
Unfortunately, I can't understand the term shown on the title of this question as well as in the article.
Please give me some explanation, advice, and even lessons regarding this specific term. Examples and reference data are both expected.
Thank you very much.

Battery, in this case, means a number of similar articles, items, or devices arranged, connected, or used together. Please refer to http://www.m-w.com. Battery chicken means a group of chickens.
Imagine a battery-chicken-farm - rows of chickens sit there, do nothing other than eating and laying eggs. Now imagine students sitting in the computer lab like battery chicken. It implies that students are spoon-fed to learn passively. I can still remember the computer lab in my secondary school (early 1990s in Singapore). There were rows of booths. You sat there, put on headset, and you were in your own isolated world. It was separated so that you wouldn't see the person in front of and behind you. If you were to lean forward on the desk, you wouldn't even see those right next to you. You would be totally isolated to minimize/eliminate interactions, or interferences as they called it.
Battery chicken, now come to think of it, is very appropriate for that setting. I learn something new today. :)
The link below puts the term in a context, and will help understand it better.
