關於睡眠的七大迷思

1.人可以不睡覺嗎?

關於睡眠的重要性目前有好幾個理論可以解釋,其中一個理論認為睡眠是為了讓身體休息,減少能量消耗。在睡眠的時候,身體損耗的細胞會開始進行修補。

另一個理論指出,在睡眠的時候,會經歷不同的週期,每一個週期都會對腦部產生不同的作用。整個睡眠週期可以包含兩大類︰非快速動眼期(NREM)與快速動眼期(REM)。

在進入「非快速動眼期」(NREM)的時候,隨著腦波愈來愈慢就漸漸進入深睡期。深睡期對身體的修復很重要,人如果有足夠的深睡期的睡眠,他睡醒時就會覺得身體休息足夠。

所以睡眠對腦部、對身體的各種功能都很重要。

2.一天睡多久最好?

每個人受基因的影響,睡幾小時最好都不太一樣。平均來講,大約一個人睡眠時間約7~8個小時,但這個數字往往隨著社會演變,愈工業化的國家睡眠時間往往愈縮短。

睡眠時間究竟需要多久?不僅取決於個人的需要,還來自於社會環境的影響,最好的標準取決於你平日睡醒之後的感覺,你醒來之後精神好不好、身體的感覺很輕鬆、日常生活會不會受影響。

3.不同年齡對於睡眠有什麼需求?

一般來講,小孩子需要比較多的睡眠,因為他們的身體與腦細胞都在成長。剛出生的嬰兒一天當中大部份都在睡覺,而且有較多REM的週期。

隨著年紀愈來愈大,睡眠的時間會愈來愈短,18歲以後一直到老年,所需要的每天睡眠總數應該是差不多的。

很多人以為老年人不用睡那麼久,其實這是不太對的。老年人需要的睡眠跟成年人一樣,只是老年人的睡眠會變得很淺,很容易被打斷,因此白天就常需要補充睡眠。

4.早睡早起健康嗎?

早睡早起比較健康,這對中年以上的人而言是比較正確的,這比較符合中年以後的生理週期。因為中年以後我們的褪黑激素會分泌得愈來愈早,所以就會傾向愈來愈早睡早起比較舒服。

熬夜會不會傷身體也要看狀況,如果你的睡眠時間跟社會習俗不同,就可能影響到睡眠品質,造成你長期睡眠不足。這樣就可能有傷身體,造成健康問題。

所以不論是早睡早起或是晚睡晚起,重要的是睡眠過程不會受到很多干擾,能順應自己的生理時鐘是最好的。

5.長期睡眠不足會發生哪些後果?

睡眠不足最明顯後果是導致白天的表現很差,甚至會有意外。研究發現長期睡眠不足會導致注意力不集中、影響免疫力,生病較不容易好等。最近也發現睡眠不足的人血糖的控制較不好、甚至較容易肥胖、消化方面常有胃腸方面的疾病。

對小孩來講,睡眠不足會影響小孩的生長荷爾蒙,因為小孩的生長激素是在睡眠的前三分之一期間分泌的,所以深睡期不夠的時候,就不會分泌生長激素。

所以睡眠除了精神上的滿足,對身體健康上的影響也很大。

6.老是睡不飽,是生病嗎?還是有嗜睡症?

老是覺得睡不飽,有可能就是嗜睡。嗜睡並不是一個疾病,而是睡眠障礙反應出來的一種症狀。最常見的原因可能是「睡眠呼吸中止症」,因為打鼾缺氧造成呼吸中斷,睡眠被打斷而睡不飽。另外像「肢動症」睡覺時腳會有抽動的情形,這些肢動會造成腦部有醒波跑出來,所以睡眠會被中斷,容易睡不飽。

另外像是感冒、病毒感染、鼻塞、關節炎、精神疾病、慢性疾病、用藥造成的嗜睡等等,都會讓人睡得很淺,而睡不飽。

7.睡午覺好不好?

根據國外的觀察,小孩子是一定要睡午覺,年紀愈小,需要睡覺的次數愈多,到了小學之後,就不一定要睡午睡了。所以,午睡好不好,還不是很確定。

如果你下午容易精神不好,建議可以小睡一下,但最好不要超過半個小時,睡超過兩小時以上會更累,因為進入快速動眼期,那時起來反而會覺得更累。

    1. Can one go without sleep?

    here are a few theories that explains sleep. One of them is to allow the body to rest , and reduce our body's energy usage . During sleep, our cells would regenerate .In another theory, there are many cycles . Every cycle would have a different effect on the brain. There are two major cycles : NREM (Non-rapid eye movement )and REM (Rapid Eye movement).When being in NREM , brain waves are slowed down and entering deep slep. Deep sleep is essential to the body's regeneration . If a person has enough sleep, then naturally he/she will feel that the body has enough rest when they wake up.So it is important for both the body and brain to attain sleep.

    2. How long should one sleep?

    Different people require different amount of sleep due to their genes. Usaully , a person needs around 7- hours of sleep. Following the changes in today's economic society, this number is decreasing and sleeping hours are shortening .

    How long should one sleep? How much you feel you should sleep is not depended on your social surroundings nor your personal needs, the best way to determine sleeping hours is you feel it. If you feel you lack energy , then you need more sleep. If your body feels good and your daily chores are not affected, the you had enough sleep.

    Generally speaking, a child would need more sleep as they are growing. Their body and brain cells are both growing. A new born child spends most his / her days sleeping and they have more REM cycles.

    A person would not need any more sleep during noon after 3rd -4th grade. So it is not known whether this is good. It is adviced to sleep if you feel tired. Sleeping for more than 30 minute would make you tired because you are entering REM. It would make you tired when you awake.

    我一直都有過敏狀況,是最近才知道要用防螨寢具的,因為醫師建議我用,我也考慮了很久,想說要買就買最好的,上個月趁網站有折扣的時候買了一組【北之特】防蹣(螨)寢具來用用看,真沒想到~~現在覺得過敏狀況有改善多了。雖然比一般的貴一些,不過~真值得!
