Love Them, Don't Leave Them【愛牠們，就不要離開牠們】

In recent years, pets have become increasingly popular in Taiwan. In many cases, pets are treated like members of the family. In return for their pets' devotion and unconditional love, owners pamper their animals with special food, toys, and sometimes even witnher clothing. Responsible owners also pay for veterinarian expenses,including shots and neutering; kitty litter for cats; and microchip implantation for dogs.

近年來飼養寵物大為流行，許多個案顯示，寵物杯當成家庭成員。餵了報答寵物的奉獻與無條件的愛，飼主常用特殊食物、玩具、甚至買冬天的寵物裝來逆愛牠們。有責任感的飼主付獸醫醫療費，包括花錢給貓打預防針、動結紮手術和貓砂給貓大小便，和給狗植晶片。

But unfortunately, not all owners are so responsible. Some dump their pets when they become tired of them, contributing to Taiwan stray animal problem. These unwanted animals, forced to live on the streets, can spread waste and disease. Some of these animals end up in animal shelters, where they may be put to sleep if no one adopts them.

Before you buy a pet, remember that it is not just a cute, disposable toy. Rather, animals are living beings that need your love and protection.

不幸的是並非每個飼主都很有責任感，有的養煩了就丟，造成台灣流浪動物的問題。這些沒人要的動物，被迫滯留街頭，牠們亂大小便和傳播疾病，有的最後流落動物庇護所，沒人領養就只有安樂死。

買寵物之前，請記得寵物可不是可愛、用了就丟的玩具，牠們是有生命的動物，需要你的愛和保護。
