Honey...

Honey-Good Health Has Never Tasted So Sweet!

When people want to sweeten up a drink or add a little taste to their toast, they usually reach for sugar or jam. Well, there’s a sweeter, more natural option on the table-honey! This golden, sticky stuff is the bee’s knees! Almost one million tons of honey are produced each year, and it is only becoming more popular.

People’s love affair with honey started a very long time ago. A rock painting in Spain shows that humans gave loved honey so much that they have been stealing it from bees for 10,000 years.

We all know that honey starts out as nectar usually collected from flowers by bees. Then the bees process it, take it back to their hives, and put it into a honeycomb. The work doesn’t stop there. In the hive, the bees use their wings to create a wind that evaporates much of the water from the honey. This ensures that the honey will stay fresh for a long, long time. How long? Well, some archaeologists found 2,000-year-old pots of honey in a mummy’s tomb, and the honey was still edible. It makes you wonder who volunteered to taste it, though!
