請問start off和start out在語氣和表達上區別

start (sth) off

to begin by doing something, or to make something begin by doing something:

She started off the meeting with the monthly sales report.

start out

to begin your life, or the part of your life when you work, in a particular way:

My dad started out as a sales assistant in a shop.

Basically, these two phrases are interchangeable. However, there are circumstances where one is used more often than the other.

Here are the situations where “start off” is more commonly used than “start out”, even though both mean the same.

Let’s start off the conversation with a brief introduction.

Here are the situations where “start out” is more commonly used than “start off”, even though both mean the same.

Do you want to know how to start out right with your new business?

Here are the situations where “start out” and “start off” are used evenly.

He wants to start off/out fresh.

    1. start off

to begin happening or make something begin happening 開始

例句:Richard started the discussion off by telling us about his experiences in Africa.

    2. start out

to begin your life or profession in a certain way 開始謀生;立業

例句:Rob started off/ out as a salesman and now he’s managing director.
