    (1) Bald-faced lie

A bald-faced (or barefaced or boldfaced) lie is a lie that is told when it is obvious to all concerned that it is a lie.

A child who has chocolate all over his face and denies that he has eaten the last piece of chocolate cake is a bald-faced liar.

    See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lie

    (2) Lie in one's throat or teeth (also, lie through one’s teeth) = to lie grossly or maliciously.

If she told you exactly the opposite of what she told me, she must be lying in her teeth.

    http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/lie

Dave was lying through his teeth when he said he’d never seen her before; they’ve known each other for years.

    (3) Lie right to one’s face

How can somebody lie right to someone’s face and stare them in the eye?

    (4) The Greek Text Says. The Original Greek Text Says

    I. The Greek Text Says...!

Whatever follows that wicked lie is immaterial, for there is no such thing on the face of this earth.

II. The Original Greek Text Says...!

Again, there is nothing like this on the face of the earth. Nobody has ever seen the ORIGINAL Greek text. A man who says this is a complete LIAR!

If she told you exactly the opposite of what she told me, she must be referring to the Greek Text.

How can somebody say the Original Greek Text and stare them in the eye?

    (5) There is a proverb from Bible related to lies, just for your reference.

"Take heed that your tongue does not cut your throat."

= This is to warn people not to lie and watch what they say. As you lie, your throat will be cut.

    Hi, 不好意思大師

Please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tall_tale for definition of tall tales.

At Toastmaster Int'l, we have speech contests for telling tall tales. It is a contest to tell the most unbelievable fictional tales.

So I would say that a tall tale usually means 誇大的,吹噓的故事.

Thanks, Elisa, I meant it closed to 【 talk barefaced nonsense】,the phase 【 tell a tall tale】seems correspondant to 【speak big words】in Cantonese or Hakkanese.
