In the west of the populous town in Cishan, it’s a beautiful park with scenery, culture, and art located at there. It names Jhongshan Park.
The Jhongshan Park was named Gushan park during the Japanese era. Surveying at the top of the Mt.Gu in Spring was one of the most twelve picturesque scenes in the past. In Japanese era, the park was used to aim at Japanese shrine. Therefore, the majestically wide stairway, the stone-made lamp, and some ruins in the park still show the Japanese style clearly.
After the government of Republic of China became the ruler in Taiwan, the park’s name was changed to the Jhongshan Park, and replaced the Japanese shrine with Confucian temple. After that, the government mark out to establish the place to display so many modern sculptures. These arts and three old steles which was fulled of historical meanings glorify the Jhongshan Park with artistic culture.
Walking along the mountain walkway in Jhongshan Park,you would arrive at the top of the Mt.Gu finally when you enjoy the perfect views with cool breeze. At the top of the Mt.Gu, you could survey the magnificent scenes about the range upon range of mountains. For the students with high pressure or the tourists loving nature to say, going to the pavilion situated at the top of the Mt’Gu is the best choice to help you to relax.

There is a beautiful historical park situated in the west Cishan, called Jhongshan Park.
The Jhongshan Park used to call Gushan Park when Taiwan was a colony of Japan. Back then, Surveying at the top of the Mt.Gu in spring was one of the most twelve picturesque scenes. The Japanese government used this park for their temple, so the wide stairway, stone lantern, and some remain in the park you can see today are all show the history of Japanese style.
After WW2, Japanese has handed Taiwan to Chinese government, and the new government had changed the name of the park to Jhongshan Park, Altered the Japanese temple to Confucian temple, and specified a certain place for sculptures display. This had made the park become a very special place that has both Taiwanese and Japanese culture in it.
By walking along the mountain walkway, it will take you to the top of Mt.Gu. In here you can enjoy the most amazing view and a cool breeze with all sorts of mountains around you. It is the most wonderful place to relax for those stressed people and a must see for tourisms.
