    兩個字都可以用, 但是傳達的語意稍有差異:

    [devote]: 致力於...

    [embark]: 開始從事某項事業

    題目的重點是考"及物/不及物動詞", "被動語態", 以及"反身代名詞"的用法".

    [devote]只能當及物動詞, 所以必然有受詞. 用法:

    主動: He devoted himself to his career/teaching. ([to]是介系詞)

    被動: He was devoted to his career/teaching. (這裡的過去分詞[devoted]已經偏向當成"形容詞"的屬性)

    所以並非有什麼"省略掉了".

    [embark]可以當及物/不及物動詞, 用法:

    He embarked on his career/teaching. (不及物)

    He embarked himself on his career/teaching. (及物, 主動)

    He was embarked on his career/teaching. (及物, 被動)

    所以, 答案是2.

    正確答案是2.

    答案1.應該是devoted himself to, himself被省略掉了.

    若是1.的話,應該有himself.
