How the Ghosts were celebrated in Western and Eastern

When it comes to ghosts, most of us would be frightened. The ghosts such as vampire, zombie and so on are exist in folk stories no matter in The West or the East. Due to the identical theme of ghosts and spirits, the Chinese Ghost Festival is always compared with the Halloween. Some people may think they are quite the same; on the contrary, they share few similarities.

One major difference between these two festivals is the origin. The on-line article tells the origin of Halloween, which goes back to ancient Celtic traditions in Ireland. The Celtic people feared the night of October 31 because was the night of return of Samhain, the lord of the Dead. On that day, the boundaries between the natural and the supernatural were believed to disappear and spirits would moved freely back to the human world. In order to please and drive those ghosts away, people made huge bonfires every year at that time. On the other hand, the concept of Zhong Yuan Festival developed from a popular Buddhist story concerning Mu Lian who was the eldest disciple of Buddha. After learning of the sufferings of his mother in hell, Mu Lian visited his mother and tried to alleviate her pain. Mu Lian turned to Buddha for help and then, he held a massive ritual on the 15th day of lunar July which is chanting prayers and providing abundant sacrificial offerings as present. To sum up, the religious and kind of calendar of this two festival are certainly distinct. One is Buddhism, and the other is Christianity; one depends on the lunar calendar, and the other uses the solar calendar.

    7.原句so people wouldn't be much careful...後面有點斷掉.

應該是so people wouldn't be much careful about/of/with* that/it*.

    既使把that省略...介系詞about/of/wuth*也須保留.

    因為真正的受詞太明顯了---就在句首(In addition ),it* /which *.受詞..

=In addition ,it* /which*受詞.....,.so people wouldn't be much careful about/of/with*.
