No discussion of employee life at Classic Hospitality would be com-plete without mentioning the company's focus on family. Each year the organization holds an annual holiday party, inviting employees, their spouses, and children to attend as a way of saying thanks for the hard work they've done. Management knows that the work hours often take employees away from their families. The holiday party is just one addi-tional means of letting employees and their loved ones know that they matter to Classic.

Is this form of motivation effective? By most accounts it is consider-ing, as we mentioned previously, that the turnover rate in the hospitality industry typically exceeds 160 percent annually. Turnover at Classic Hospitality is less than 25 percent. That's a tremendous savings for the corporation-something that company officials appear to share with their loyal employees.
