SWITCH TEST
 
PURPOSE: 
To establish that the switch under test passes current in the "closed position" 
and not in the "open position".
 
SWITCH TYPES:
a) Conventional switches-e.g. rear guard lamps 
b)Non-latching switches-e.g. horn.
 
METHOD:
Using a Digital Multimeter - 
check for CONTINUITY across the switch contacts with the switch 
in the "closed position" - (Diagram 8).
 
Check for NO CONTINUITY (greater than 200kΩ) across the switch 
contacts with the switch in the "open positino" - (Diagram 9).
 
NOTE:To ensure accurate tests isolate the switch before testing.
