For answering the question, the technical performances of the LACOS vehicles were commonly tested during the"Integration Trials", held in atest track of Centor Sicurezza, in Orbassano, the last March 9th and 10th 2000. Due to the necessity of carrying out tests in standard conditions, the test track solution(respect to the solution of performing the trials on public roads) was identified since the very beginning of the project.
The tests were carried out in many specific scenarios related to the two LACOS driving assistance functions of Lane warning Supprt and Lane Change Support. Working in the test track permitted to play the tes tests in steandard conditions and to replicate them very easily.
Results of the evaluations performed during the Integration Trials are synthesised in protocol sheets and observations (standardised) that were completely carried out by a project partner,TUV Kraftfahrt GmbH, with a specific know how on the matter.
