關於hate的用法

請問

hate昰屬於否定字或是肯定字

For example,

1. "I don't hate it, too."

'2. " I don't hate it, either."

Which one is correct?

    hate 是普通動詞,無所謂肯定字或否定字。至於句中的 too 或 either 的用法,不由 hate 這個字來決定,你換成別的動詞,答案還是一樣。

    句子 2 正確。

    其實,否定句不是不能用 too,要看前面怎麼說。假如前面的敘述,是否定,那後面的否定就一定要用 either. 例如:

    I don't love it, but I don't hate it, either.

    (我不喜歡它,可也不討厭它。)

    A: I don't want to stay at home.

    B: I don't, either.

    (A: 我不要待在家裡。)

    (B: 我也不要。)

    可是,有一種情形,前面敘述是肯定,那後面的否定就可以用 too。

    You can have a pear, but you can't have an apple too.

    (你可以拿個梨子去吃,但你就不能再吃蘋果了。)

    不能說 You can have a pear, but you can't have an apple either.
