    Whisky is classified according to the differences in the raw materials used and the ways they're made in the different countries. I would like to introduce three different whiskys.

    Irish whisky is distinguished by the obvious fragrance from the barley used, as well as the fact that the malt drying process uses coal, not peat. This manufacturing process allows the fragrance of the barley to mix with the alcohol, and creates the unique flavour of the Irish whisky.

    日本威士忌〈Japanese Whisky〉 主要以蘇格蘭威士忌為範本,但大多缺少蘇格蘭威士忌所特有的煙燻香氣,而使口感變得較溫和。

    Janapese whisky mainly takes after Scotch whisky. But they mostly lack the smoky fragrance unique to Scotch whisky, and so they're milder on the palette.

    蘇格蘭威士忌〈Scotch Whisky〉的定義,有一些條件的限制:以穀物為原料,加入酵母使之發酵,最後在木桶內熟成至少三年以上。

    Scotch whisky is defined by a few things: grains are the main ingredient, and yeast are added for the fermentation process. It then has to be matured in wooden barrels for at least three years.
