peoples?

Can we use the word "peoples"? If we can, then in what kind of status? Thanks!

    Of course we can,

    but not in the most condtion.

    Generally speaking,

    "people" is the most usual plural of "person",

    so we say:

    "There is one person."

    "There are two people."

    (and we can say: "There are two persons." as well, but it's formal and mostly used in legal language.)

    Also, people is a singular noun meaning "nation", "tribe", or "race", too.

    Let's take two simple sentences as examples:

    The Chinese are an industrious people.

    The peoples of the world are peace-loving.
