Relation between Food and Health

According to the top ten causes of death statistics in Taiwan , cancer is the major killer of Taiwanese. Occurrence of cancer relate to genetic and environmental factors. Foods play a important part in environmental factor. If we can adjust the diet and pay attention to nutritional balance , we can reduce by 30 ~ 70% chance of suffering from cancer.

Caloric intake and cancer

1. Too much calories intake will lead to obesity, obese people tend to get breast cancer, endometrial cancer, colorectal cancer and pancreatic cancer.

2. reducing caloric intake and maintaining ideal weight is the best way to reduce cancer, it also will decrease the probability of stroke and cardiovascular disease. Eat less sweets, sugary drinks and fried food.

3. Animal studies also found that intake of long-term calorie restriction can reduce the probability of various types of cancer, but other than liver cancer.
