聖經"凡事都有定期"的英文應該是用For還是To?

各位先進:

請問聖經原文是 For Everything There is a Season

還是To Everything There is a Season

為何網路上會看見這兩種很多人都在用

到底哪個才是對的呢??意義上有不同之處嗎??

    從以下翻譯版本來比較,”to“似乎是遵從欽定本(King James Version, 1611)的傳統。而較近代的版本都是採用“for“。在意義上應該是沒有什麼不同的。我個人的揣摩是:傳道書乃是以詩歌體寫成,所以欽定本的翻譯者比較講究文字的美感;為了配合下文 -- 都是”a time to...“的格式, 所以就採用"To everything...". 而現代一般的用法,其實大多是用"for",所以近代的譯本也就不仿效欽定本的譯法。
