    只要咬緊牙根,撐過去,成功就會是自己的。

Just keep steadfast and carry on, and you will achieve a success.

Just persist through with a resolute mind, and success is yours to reach.

Owl, you're right. "Grin and bear it" is an idiom which means to accept something unpleasant with good humor.

Nevertheless, it denotes no meaning of "咬緊牙根". The verb "grin" means here "accept it with a reluctant smile".

    只要咬緊牙根,撐過去,成功就會是自己的。

    也可以這麼翻成口語版:

Just persevere and tough it out. The accomplishment will be yours to keep.

As long as, pushing past, success will be your own.

"Grin and bear it" is an expression meaning:

    accept sth bad w/o complaining.

    2010-09-11 07:39:28 補充:

We "grin", stop, and then we "bear it"

Here, "grin", the verb in-transitive does not share the object "it"

w/ "bear", the verb transitive at all.

"Bear" is having use of "it" all by itself.

    2010-09-11 07:45:54 補充:

    "Eventually" means in the end,

esp. after a long time/a lot of effort, problems.

We "grin", and then we "bear it".

Here, "grin", the verb in-transitive, does not share the object "it" w/ "bear", the verb transitive, at all.
