1.8 Annual Leave All requests must be made to management at least one month in advance. R & J Murphy Hydroponics is a seasonal business and applications for leave during peak season are discouraged. Staff are advised against making non-refundable/non-changeable bookings until formal approval has been received. As a guide, staff are encouraged to plan off-season leave for late autumn/winter. Generally staff will be expected to work on public holidays when these days coincide with a scheduled picking or pollination day. Special arrangements will apply at Easter and Christmas/New Year. 1.9 Drugs & Alcohol R & J Murphy Hydroponics enforces a zero-tolerance policy on illegal drugs and alcohol in the workplace. Under no circumstances are staff to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol while on the premises. Any staff member suspected of being under the influence will be asked to leave the premises immediately and formal disciplinary action will follow. In the interest of safety staff using prescription medication which may affect their work performance or ability to operate equipment must inform management before commencing work and/or provide a medical certificate. 1.10 Knock off drinks No knock off drinks are allowed whilst there are still staff working. R & J Murphy will take no responsibility for anyone that has consumed alcohol whilst there are still work activities in progress.
