In his last lecture,Randy shoeed his great sense of humor. He said junior faculty members used to ask him,''Wow, you got tenure early. What's your secret?''Randy replied, It's pretty simple.Call me any Friday night in my office at ten o'clock and I'll tell you.''Randy worked hard even on friday nights! He said.''Be prepared. Luck is truly where preparation meents opportunity. I was on the waiting list. I called them up and they eventually decided that it was getting really annoying to have me call everyday. Whenhe became a sophomoer in Brown Univversity,Randy was an arrogant teaching assistant for prof.Andy Van Dam.One day,Andy put his arm around Randy's shoulders and they went for a little walk. Andy said ,''Randy , it's such a shame that people perceive you as an arrogant person,because it's going to limit what you're going to be able to accomplish in life .'' Instead of telling me "I'm a jerk '' Andy said the downside .Randy cintinued to say, When you're screwing up and nobody is saying anything to you anymore , that means they gave you up'' ''Your critics are the ones telling you they still love and care''
