但我苦思好久、google好久都搞不清楚這個overlap meeting的"overlap"的意思是甚麼= =?
ooooh!! You applied one of them? That is amazing!! You are so excellent!:))
For example, Ms. Foster said, a student might tell one university that a brother was also in college, but in another form sent later to another university the student might note that the brother had taken a semester off. The universities can then reduce the amount of financial aid offered.

"overlap" meetings to discuss financial aid for students who have applied to several of the schools.
The meeting is to discuss the "overlapping" applications to multiple schools by the applicants. The term "overlap" is not about the format of the meeting. It is the objective of the meeting.
Am I happy that I only applied to one of them!

Note: Ivy league schools never gave out "scholarchips", they do give out "financial aides". All aides are "need based", not "merit based".

The importance is that all aides are "need based" and you will need to prove you have such needs. Many applicants lie about their financial situations.
Of course, I did not lie because I do not even apply for the aides.
