[唐吉訶德]的讀音問題

剛好看到一本英文版的唐吉訶德

英文不好 隨便翻翻

忽然裡面有個地方想問一下

Don Quixote de la Mancha

This is NOT English but Spanish. In Spanish, every vowel and consonant have ONLY one sound (very few exceptions). Therefore, what you see is how you pronounce.

    For example:

"Don" is like "don" in "donate"

"Quixote", "x" pronounces as "h", so it sounds like "ki-ho-te"

"de" is just like "de" in "delta'

"la" is just like "la" in "lava"

"Mancha", here "man" is not like "man" in English, but like "man" in

Manhattan", "cha" is like "cha" in "charge".

    Hopefully! this helps !

yes, you are good to use "爹拉麵恰". It is very close to that. The only difference is you didn't have the sound of "n" in 麵. If you add "n" sound in it, then it is perfect!

I think "Mancha" is either is a Family name or a place. "la" is "the" in English, "de" is "of" in English. I think, you shall know what it means for "Don Quixote de la Mancha"

    2011-12-20 06:45:53 補充:

Since "Mancha" is in feminine form, because it has "a" in the end, so it use the feminine form of "the" (in English), and that is "la" (in Spanish). If it is masculine form it will be "el".

    For your reference!

    2011-12-20 06:48:54 補充:

By the way, "Don" means "mister" in English, as "Mr."

You don't need promise that! If someone can do a better job, then you shall choose this person. I really don't care about it! However, I still thank you for considering that!

    歐陸民眾對於外來字,不太會去按原音來講,而是照本國習慣來發音。所以看到同一個字時,英、法、義、西等國民眾都會按本國慣用的字母音來唸喔。

    還是華人最有禮貌,會去發原音。英文中有不少法文、其它歐陸文,當我按原音來講時,會順口的多。
