Receptor potentials produced by stimuli delivered to different parts of a sensory receptor cell are integrated through summation, as are postsynaptic potentials

in sensory neurons that synapse with multiple receptors.

Receptor potentials(主詞) produced by stimuli(修飾主詞) delivered to different parts of a sensory receptor cell(修飾主詞) are integrated(動詞+vpp) through summation(介+名詞), as(準關係代名詞代表前一句的事) are(動詞,問題來了為何動詞要用are 不用is) postsynaptic potentials(補語)

in sensory neurons(介+名修飾postsynaptic potentials) that synapse with multiple receptors(修飾 sensory neurons).

The importance of this sensory system for mosquitoes in mate attraction

can be demonstrated very simply: A tuning fork vibrating at the same frequency as a that of a female's wings will by itself attract males.

The importance of this sensory system for mosquitoes in mate attraction(主詞+介詞片語) can be demonstrated(動詞+Vpp) very simply: A tuning fork(主詞) vibrating(Ving修飾主詞) at the same frequency(介片詞) as a that of a female's wings(這裡的as是當介係詞用嗎?) will(will+attract動詞 ) by itself(插入修飾 A tuning fork表強調) attract males.

as a that of a female's wings(這裡的as是當介係詞用嗎?)

Postsynaptic potentiaols are integrated through summation.

A tuning fork vibrating at the same frequency as that of a female's wings will by itself attract males.

Surviving neurons in the brain can make new connections and sometimes compensate for damage, as occurs in the remarkable recoveries of some stroke victims.

Surviving neurons(主詞)( in the brain)(介詞片語)

can make(動詞) new connections and sometimes compensate(受詞) for damage(介詞片語修飾compensate),

as(連接詞) occurs(動詞) in the remarkable recoveries of some stroke victims(介詞片語).

    1. 原句:

Receptor potentials produced by stimuli delivered to different parts of a sensory receptor cell are integrated through summation, as are postsynaptic potentials in sensory neurons that synapse with multiple receptors.

Postsynaptic potentiaols are integrated through summation.

She looks forward, as does her secretary, to the completion of the building.

They go to the concerts frequently, as do I.

He believed, as did all his family, that the King was their supreme lord.

The importance of this sensory system for mosquitoes in mate attraction

can be demonstrated very simply: A tuning fork vibrating at the same frequency as that of a female's wings will by itself attract males.

    這裡的結構是:...the same +名詞+as +名詞片語

We black people of Birmingham want equal rights. We want the same rights as the white people in the city.

A tuning fork vibrating at the same frequency as that of a female's wings will by itself attract males.

    the same ... as...,這裡的as是介系詞,that of a female's wings是其受詞,兩者加起來當frequency的修飾語。

Surviving neurons in the brain can make new connections and sometimes compensate for damage, as occurs in the remarkable recoveries of some stroke victims.
