文法高手請幫幫我 continue
我從書上看到以下句子:
They are bound to fail if they contiune at the risk of all these dangers.
我個人認為continue跟at 中間還要加個being才對
請各位幫我解釋一下文法結構,謝謝!

這個句子沒有問題。
They are bound to fail if they continue (to be) at the risk of all these dangers.
針對 at the risk of ...... 的用法，你想到 continue 後面要有 be 動詞是對的。 但 continue 不是加 being，是加 to be。
continue 後面，習慣上加不定詞，而 to be 又往往可以省略，就成了問題裡的句子了。
類似例句：
Your current subscription will continue at the same price until it expires.
你目前訂閱會繼續維持原價，直到訂閱期滿。
這裡 continue at the same price 也是省略 to be。

[關於 continue + Ving]
continue 與 be 動詞結合比較特殊，所以我在回答中說，continue 「習慣上」用不定詞， continue to be。
continue 後面加「動態」動詞時，可以接動名詞，也可以用不定詞，意思差不多，例如「繼續走」：
continue walking
= continue to walk

但「靜態」動詞，則習慣上要用不定詞。

After start, begin and continue, a state verb usually has the to-infinitive form.
在 start、begin 和 continue 後面，靜態動詞通常用 to 不定詞的形式。
be 動詞一般是「靜態」動詞，所以習慣上用 continue to be。

在某些場合，可以用 continue being，但意思與這裡用的不同。這是把先把 be 動詞用成進行式的概念，be 動詞成了動態動詞，在 continue 後面才會有 being。這又屬於另一種用法了！

另外，關於 to be 的省略，若真正要談 to be 的用法，非常複雜，不是這裡三言兩語說得盡。但簡單說， to be 省略的情況，在某些動詞接形容詞當主詞補語或受詞補語時比較多，隨便舉幾個例子：
prove to be true = prove true
appear to be OK = appears OK

其他像 consider 後面接名詞當受詞補語，to be 也可以省略：
consider him to be a good guy = consider him a good guy

我是看字典有說continue後面可加to+v或是Ving
所以才想說用being
不曉得意思有不一樣或是有限制?
請您解答一下
另外，to be 在這個句子可以省略，可以詳加說明在什麼狀況下是可以省略?

I see nothing wrong except the second "they" should be omitted.
Otherwise, I would write:
They are bound to fail should they continue ...
or
They are bound to fail if they continued ...
