"than"的疑問

Uke has experience turning his inner advocate’s ideas into law. In 1993 he invented an auto emissions index that a few years later became mandatory for cars being sold in California. Today the information is required for every new car sold in the U.S. “There’s nothing as powerful that the federal government has than informed consumers,” says Uke.

the X paragraph from the bottom

There’s nothing as powerful that the federal government has / than informed consumers.

    To Dark Helmet:

There’s nothing so/as powerful as the federal government has than informed consumers.

    To Prisoner26535:

    I totally agree with you.

Based on the sentence, "Obviously, consumers are still no competition to the fed in controlling the consumer laws," your interpretation is much more acceptable and persuasive.

But here is the question that bothers me for a long time...

    "There is/are some/no/any-thing Adj-1... Adj2..."

    absolutely!

    這時唬爛的標籤(Made in U.S.)

    Thank you for your explanation!

There’s nothing as powerful that the federal government has than informed consumers.

因為是口語,所以有很多省略掉的字,nothing more.... than, more 省略掉了,as powerful as 後面的as 省略掉了。

There 's nothing more as powerful as that of the federal government has than informed consumers.

    To shawn:

    To shawn:

There's nothing more powerful than informed consumers' choice, which is as powerful as that (legislative power) of the federal government has.

    To Shown:

把標籤搞的那麼複雜只是增加成本,who care? only the price talk!

I tend to agree with Helmet on the correctness of the sentence but differ on the interpretation. I think it should be read:

there is nothing [with the power as] powerful as that the fed has

[that is more powerful] than informed consumers.

    it means that

The power of informed consumers is very powerful, almost as powerful as that of the fed, and more than anything else.

Author is not comparing the powers of consumers and of the fed.

Obviously, consumers are still no competition to the fed in controlling the consumer laws.

"Informed consumers" is/are the most powerful thing(s) that the Federal Government has.

    應該是 as.......as

    或 more......than

There’s nothing as powerful that the federal government has / than informed consumers.

    這句子複製起來,貼進 Word 2010, 就會看到綠線, 它給的建議也是 as...as 或 more....than

「倒數第X段」- Xth to the last paragraph

Xth = second, third, forth, fifth, etc.

There’s nothing so/as powerful as the federal government has than informed consumers

Joanne! I read the paragraph one more time and found that you are RIGHT about than. It is not a typo for "then". Bravo! Thank you for your answering to let me see the sentence in a different way.
