The boos asked everyone being prompt.

The boos asked everyone to be prompt.

    不要武斷的說這兩句哪句錯、哪句對;

    其實兩句都是正確的句子, 只是意思不同:

    - Ving是已存在的動作或狀態.

    - to V是表示「要去做; 要發生」的動作或狀態.

The boss asked everyone being prompt.

The boss asked everyone to be prompt.

I tried to ask everyone going to Kaohsiung.

I tried to ask everyone to go to Kaohsiung.

    我盡力要求大家都去高雄.

    以上說的是分詞與不定詞的使用語意差別;

    樓上兩位所說的stop, continue, forget, remember等動詞則是後接動名詞與不定詞的語意差別.

    希望您已充分明瞭.

    大家高興就好大大,

沒錯, everyone being prompt = everyone who was prompt

(= everybody prompt)

"The boss asked everyone being prompt"

Curious about how the job was so quickly done, the boss asked everyone being prompt.

The boss asked everyone being prompt how they did it.

Concerning the flood situation in southern Taiwan, I tried to ask everyone going to

    Kaohsiung.

= I tried to ask everyone going to Kaohsiung about the flood situation in southern

    Taiwan.

everyone being prompt = everyone prompt = everyone which was prompt

He gave me a doll which had blue eyes.

He gave me a doll having blue eyes.

He gave me a doll with blue eyes.

    to ask somebody about something

to ask somebody to do something才是正確的寫法。

    另一種關係to ask somebody something

    I asked him his name.

The boss asked everyone being prompt. X

The boss asked everyone to be prompt. O

The boss asked everyone being prompt.

The boss asked everyone being prompt. [ something]

The boss asked everyone being prompt. [ to do somthing]

The boss asked everyone being prompt.

The boss asked everyone being prompt. ---錯

The boss asked everyone to be prompt.---

I forgot to call you yesterday.

I forgot calling you yesterday.

The boss asked everyone being prompt.

The boss asked everyone being prompt.

The boss asked everyone who was prompt.

The boss asked everyone prompt.

"The boss asked everyone being prompt how they did it.

若照您的解釋, 裡面的being prompt=who was prompt, 那麼它是跟everyone有關係, 而與ask並無關係, 似乎有點離題了.

He gave me a doll which had blue eyes.

    Grammar mistake from above:

it should be "not yet happened." and not "not yet happens."

Yes, there is difference between "V-ing" and "to V". "V-ing" is on going situation; "to V" is about to, but not yet happens.

By the way, it shall be "boss" not "boos". "boos" are "噓聲"

Allen! thank you for correction! Yes, it is better to use "happened" when "not yet" in the sentence. It is more logical.
