    1.

    其實這必須要以一個觀念籬清..

    What 跟 That都可以拿來形成名詞子句..

    但是像您所說的,為什麼這裡不用 What 而用 That..

    我們把這兩個單字放進去看吧..

    That he is honest

    That 所引領的名詞子句,That本身是虛詞,在翻譯中沒有意思..

    翻譯>>他誠實

    What he is honest

    疑問詞所引領的名詞子句,翻譯時必須要翻出來..

    翻譯>>他誠實「什麼」

    以疑問詞引領的名詞子句例子

    Where he lives>>他住在哪

    What she likes>>她喜歡什麼

    whom you like>>你喜歡誰

    When you leave>>你何時離開 或 當你離開..看前後文的語意

    如果你要用What開頭寫的話..句子應該是..

What he is known to everyone in his class is his honest.

John too.

或是and John walked to school on foot, too.

而so did John,這個 so 表示 walked to school on foot 這件事.

    但是用so連接的時候,要用倒裝句..因此用 so did John.

    希望有解答到您的疑惑~^^

    1. That (he is honest) is known ...

That 帶領 子句 he is honest 合起來當主詞。 文法可以是 That is known...

    What 不行。沒有帶領子句的功能。

    2. she was hardworking 一定正確

she had work hard 也可以。 hard 當副詞,是努力地。

hardly 和努力無關了。 hardly 是『幾乎不』。 she had worked hardly 幾乎不工作。那就和題目意思完全相反。

    3. so did John 是標準的說法。如 I liked sports, and so did she.

這裏 John walked too = John 也步行(走路)

    但是題目是 I walked to school = 我走路上學。所以後頭是 John 也【走路上學】 才對。不是只有走路。

The 100 anniversary of Post Office posting query in English grammar:-

(1)That he is honest------is a noun clause as subject in the head of sentence.

(2)She was hard-working------means past continuous tense showing she is working still."had worked hardly +loved=past perfect tense +past tense can not be clear enough here= not in clarity.

(3)and so did John means "an Inversion" here altering the natural order of words, which cannot be "walked---->walked too"=simple past tense, which cannot be a Figure of Speech.
