What I'm doing with my life

=means what you are doing with your life

    =What is your career?

A career is a job, usually a profession, that someone works in for a large part of their life:-eg:- a career in law. Life means your career in the part of your life during which you work

eg:-A lawyer is a person who has studied law and whose job is to give legal advice and help, and to represent people in court. He may become an attorney, barrister-at-law, or solicitor. etc.Hence "What i'm doing with my life."

TOMING88's only partly correct. When people tell you to "do something with your life", they mean that you should try to be successful. Success is not just limited to one's career which is only a part of life.

He asks me what I am doing with my life.

What am I doing with my life?
