英翻中 – Things go better with…

可否幫我英翻中以下幾個句子?

1.Things go better with Prince of Modesty.

2.Everything goes better with Prince of Modesty.

3.Things get better with Prince of Modesty.

4.Everything gets better with Prince of Modesty.

中文翻譯的用詞不必完美,我只是要給自己看,以瞭解其意。

謝謝!

另外,可否順便幫我看一下這句台語,如果要翻成英文,怎樣翻比較好?

台語:沒你卡快活!

英語:

(a) Things go better without you.

(b) Things get better without you.

謝謝!

    Things go/get = Everything goes/gets

    而go better指的是狀況本身變好

    get better的感覺則是受到外力影響的「改善」

    沒你卡快活

    用Things go better without you.較恰當

    這邊的感覺是:即使你沒有犯任何錯,但你在旁邊(感覺)就是會讓事情進行不下去。→看人不爽,不理性的說法。

Things get better without you. 這邊指的是你一直幫倒忙。

Things go better with you. 這邊的你感覺是幸運星,即使沒有立大功,但每個小動作感覺都畫龍點睛。

Things get better with you. 這邊的你則是很有能力,能讓狀況好轉。

    但其實只是很細微的感覺,放在一起比才會感覺的出來。

    單句混用,其實都會通。

    前面四句我就不翻了,這個意會就好,看你要怎麼使用。

For the record, i am not saying you are wrong...

After inquiring the differences between go better and get better, native speakers tend to use get better in progressive tense, as in it's getting better to emphasize the ongoing process of improvement.

    2013-09-17 12:22:56 補充:

However, if you want to state the condition where someone's presence has already been left out, then my life is better without you, and things looks up without you are better.

    2013-09-17 12:26:55 補充:

it goes better without is not common to say, but native speaker would guess the one who wrote this must have been through a lot, and then to state the differences between the life with you, and without you.

    2013-09-17 12:30:46 補充:

"go better" most likely is used in procedure, activity, ....or as in machines to mean something runs smoothly.

whereas "get better" is used to state the improvement in condition, situation, health..etc.

    2013-09-17 12:38:07 補充:

沒你卡快活 can go two different ways, one as in "you" has already out of the picture, and then it should be "thing is getting better without you" or "things are looking up without you".

    2013-09-17 12:43:24 補充:

The other as to make fun of someone (someone doesn't get away), then it should be "things would be better without you" (hypothetically or hopefully)

Things will be better is almost equal to it is better but in future tense.(mostly likely will happen as you hope)

    2013-09-17 12:46:00 補充:

forgive me with some wrong typing

    2013-09-17 13:01:50 補充:

however, it gets better also implies the futuristic sense of something will be better, but less common to say in daily life. Mostly in progressive tense.
