bring to fruition + 受詞

例句:

We are working hard to bring to fruition all of the ideas.

bring 的受詞是不是 all of the ideas ?

如果是的話,詞序不就應該是: bring all of the ideas to fruition ?

    這裡的bring是bring A to B的關係:把A帶到B的境界。

If something comes to fruition, it starts to succeed and produce the results that were intended or hoped for.

所以to bring all the ideas to fruition 是由「想法」變成「成果」

    是 to change A into B 的關係。

A young boy showed her the way here.

A young boy showed the way here to her.

A young boy showed to her the way here.

A young boy showed her the way to here.才對

    the way to here=來這裡的路線

    直接受詞是名詞片語the way to here

    the way to here不是her要到的地方,而是來這裡的路線(是方法,不是目的地)。

He sold me the bananas for two dollars.'

We are working hard to bring to fruition all of the ideas.

= We are working hard to bring all of the ideas to fruition.

第一句的焦點會在all of the ideas(表示「全部的」想法都在內),而第二句的焦點會在fruition(表示「有成果」重要)。

to bring someone or something into a particular state or condition means to cause them to be in that state or condition.

例句:He brought the car to a stop in front of the square.

We are working hard to bring all the ideas to fruition.

He has been trying hard to bring the car to a stop.

He brought me a birthday cake.

He brought a birthday cake to me.

He bought me a birthday cake.

He bought a birthday cake for me.

He wrote me a letter.

=He wrote a letter to me.

但He wrote a letter for me.(他幫我寫了封信)裡的wrote就不是授與動詞了。

    所以不要看到某個動詞就一定要認定它是授與動詞,因為它可能還有別的用法。

    你提供的網路資料上,就說明fruition是一種state:

    Definition: 1. a state or point in which something has come to maturity or had a desired outcome;

    2014-06-25 09:06:33 補充:

    因為句焦點(伴隨著句重音)在句尾,所以言外之意會有點不同:

    She told her mother everything.(可能沒有遺漏一件)

She told everything to her mother.(可能沒有告訴其他的人)

Master Louis! I got your point! Thank you for the explanation!

I think, the key point for a dative verb (授與動詞) is the indirect object usually is a live thing, not a thing or stuff without life. After all, when you give, bring, …, the recipient has to have a life to RECEIVE.

    本來應是 bring A to fruition

但 A 太長了(all of the ideas outlined in the business plan)所以把 A 移到後面

否則就變成 bring all of the ideas outlined in the business plan to fruition

We are working hard to bring to fruition all of the ideas outlined in the business plan. 其中fruition 與all of the ideas outlined in the business plan表一件同樣事,翻譯:我們努力獲得成就,而此成就就是已列入營業計畫的所有理想,(比如說達到獲利成長10%)

bring 的受詞不是 all of the ideas
