我不懂得點:

這句話的翻譯不是: 聽到法院的決定,受害者對法律很失望

那應該是{先聽到} 所以應該Hearing the court's decision用完成式吧?

而不是 {先失望}吧?

    had let them down.

    聽聞法院的判決,被害者家屬覺得司法已讓他們(徹底)失望。

    過去完成式had let的對照動作是felt, 而不是Hearing, 司法的表現讓人搖頭,前後邏輯OK,所以文法並無錯誤。

    Having heard.... :聽完;聽了

    兩者皆可,意思略有差別。

    為什麼 這邊要用"過去完成式"表達先?

    正確寫法如下:1.After the victim's family had heard the court's decision, they felt that the legal system had let them down.2.=Having heard the court's decision, the victim's family felt that the legal system had let them down.

    3.= Hearing the court's decision, the victim's family felt that the legal system had let them down.

    這句話的翻譯是: 聽到法院的決定,受害者家屬對法律很失望

    那應該是{先聽到} 所以應該Having heard the court's decision用過去完成式,然而英文文法有一規則,即依常理判斷知道其發生順序,用過去簡單式亦可,這文化差異只有遵循辦理,所以上述3種寫法均正確
