Q:How do we get to the night market?

How do we go to the night market?

Q:We can go to the night market!

We can get to the night market!

Q:What time does this train get to New York?

What time does this train go to New York?

都說get to 是到達 go to 是去 ><"" 有點搞不清楚

get to (somewhere) 和 go to (somewhere) 的意思不同,要用哪一個,完全看你要表達那一個意思,解說如下:

    1. How do we get to the night market?

    2. How do we go to the night market?

    3. We can go to the night market!

    4. We can get to the night market!

    5. What time does this train get to New York?

    6. What time does this train go to New York?

I got to do this right away. 只是 get to 的過去式 不表示 "I must or have to"

I've got to do this right away.

The reason you have this kind of question is sometimes they are interchangeable, most of the time are not. For example:

    I didn't go to vote.

(this one tells you he didn't vote)

    I didn't get to vote.

(this one tells you he didn't have the chance or right to vote)

    Like your question:

What time does this train get to New York?

(This one asks about the arrival time)

What time does this train go to New York?

(this one asks about the departure time)

I got to do this right away.

(this one tells you, "I must or have to")

I go to do this right away

(the one doesn't have the "must or have to" meaning in it)

    However,

I go to school by bus.

I get to school by bus.

(both mean just about the same, even though one emphasizes the arrival, the other emphasizes the departure)

Oh! the very last example, people usually use "I go to school by bus."

"get" emphasizes "arrival" and "go" emphasizes "departure" can be seen from this example:

Come see me when I get home. (arrival at home)

Come see me when I go home. (departure to home)

Hence, when you want to use the above sentence, you will CHOOSE "Come see me when I get home!"

The reason "get" has the implied meaning of "arrival" is it has the meaning of "to obtain". However, "go" doesn't have it.

Instead "go" has the meaning of "to leave"
