If in proper writing a sentence, you still need to use the standard Dictionary ,the standard Grammar Book(Not yours)
persuade v.eg:-I persuade him to accept my recommendation on Oxon grammar bk.
meaning:-convince,influence, prevail upon (him), talk into (you),urge(you)use persuasion as a noun.
the opposite is dissuade verb.,:-I dissuade you from using that bad Grammar bk.
meaning:-to disuade from, advise against, argue(someone) out of, deter from, discourage from, persuade (someone) not to use that bad Grammar book to remonstrate (with someone) against using that bad Grammar bk.
eg:-Argue (someone) out of using that bad Grammar bk.
eg:-Deter from; Discourage from (someone) using that bad Grammar bk.
talk somebody into ving (gerund):---eg:-I persuade him to accept my talk into (DROPPING, BURNING,TEARING,DISCARDING,CONDEMNING,etc.)that bad Grammar bk.
