I will be appreciate if you guys can help me out to translate this clip of CNN student news. From 9:09 till the end.

I have some sentences that I can't really figure out, such as '' It's not just for one

rep, It's not just for one lap....'' '' Don't know if the row causes the roe''.....

My point is that I understand he's talking about a kind of exercise pulling the cable as the image shows in the clip, but I just can't understand some of the words he uses

seem simple but when they're added together, I'm confused.

Thanks for helping!

Thanks Lucas, I understand your transportation and explanation.

By the way, what does ''row'' mean? Does it means like a fight or something else?

rep = (weight training terminology) abbreviation of repetition. every time you lift a weight, it's counted one rep.

lap = an error in the transcript. I heard "laugh" rather than "lap"

it's not just for a laugh - they're not doing this just for fun

Don't know if the row causes the roe = Don't know if the row cost a "something".

I read the transcript, and in the transcript there is a (ph), standing for phonetic, right after "roe", which indicates that the person writing the transcript does not know what the reporter say either, so that person just spell out what the words sound like to him or her.

Unfortunately I have no idea what the correct word would be either. I'm pretty sure it's not an idiom. It might start with "r" or "wr", but that is all I know

Don't know if the row causes the roe = Don't know if the row caused a "something".

"caused" and "cost" are both possible, but it all depends on the "something". As long as we know what is "something", it should be clear if it is cost or caused

    Oh, there you go.

The original sentence is "Don't know if the row caused a row"

I'm hitting the word limit, so i'm going to put the rest of the answer in the suggestion section

The first row refers to the exercise shaq is doing. The second row refers to, as you said, a fight. This is a rare usage of this word, and when people do use it, they pronounced it as "rau", which sounds similar to "now"

    2015-07-14 02:06:58 補充:

It basically means: "I am Carl Azuz, and that adds another episode to the CNN student news series."

    stack up = add

it's usually used at the end of a show, saying the show ends here, in a more elegant way.

    2015-07-14 02:16:26 補充:

    No.

"cable" itself does not refer to any gym facility, but "seated cable row" does refer to one, the one shaq is using. Weight rack the thing Chris is standing on, which adds weight to the machine.

    2015-07-14 02:16:49 補充:

    **they pronounce it as "rau"

    2015-07-14 02:19:13 補充:

"Don't know if the row caused a row"

is a joke, saying "don't know if shaq later regrets this serious and funny decision and blame chris for adding too much weight."
