A simple English question
I was watching the CNN student news on Youtube, and I found something strange
with the anchor's way of saying the number.
When he said 2200 , he said twenty two hundred instead of two thousand and two
hundred. And it didn't just happen for once, he said the same thing when speaking of 1200. ( twelve hundred )
However, as many Taiwanese know, we were told to say one thousand and two
hundred. I guess the anchor is just for the speed when he speaks, cuz when he says twelve hundred it is faster. I want to know which way do most native tongue use.
Thanks for helping.

A simple question indeed!
It is actually more common to say twenty two hundred than two thousands and two hundreds.
This is not a matter of right or wrong. To me, the former simply is shorter to say. For example, 3000 is typically pronounced three thousands but seldom thirty hundred.
