為什麼end後面要加ving?

為什麼 ended up 後面用breaking ?

He ended up (by) winning a victory. = 他以獲得勝利收場。

The couple ... ended up breaking up last week. =那對夫妻上星期以離婚收場。

breaking原來是「動名詞」當作介系詞的受詞，但前面的介系詞by省略了。

2. The man wearing a T-shirt ....

wearing ...是「現在分詞」（屬形容詞性質），當作名詞man的「修飾語」。修飾語是片語時，須放在其修飾的名詞後面。
