文法問題: " Oh, tear ducts and rust".??

My dear friends, I have a question for you!

In a song called " Just give me a reason", It says" Oh tear ducts and rust". Well, I think it should be ducts and rusts. Am I right???

Also, what's the difference between (happening and happenin')? Do they pronounce the same?

Thanks a lot for your help! ^^

    (1) 在"Just give me a reason" 這首歌中 ,"Oh tear ducts and rust" 這一句 , 文法 沒錯/不算錯!

    Rason :-

    =====

    (a) tear ducts and rust = 淚水流過 鏽蝕一切

    i) duct -- 管道, 這處用作 verb, 解作「流過」

    tear(uncountable) -- 3rd person, sinular ---> 後面的動詞"duct" 要加 "s".

    ∴ written as : tear ducts (淚水流過)

    ii) rust = all things rust = 鏽蝕一切

    all things 「一切」-- 是「眾數」,後面的動詞"rust" 不用加 "s" ;

    ∴ written as : all things rust

    ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

    => whole sentence : "Oh tear ducts and rust", 即 "Oh tear ducts and (all things) rust",

    (b) ∵ 這是一句「歌詞」, ∴ 可有 "special allowance" (理由 : 要配合「音樂」等等)

    (2) "happening and happenin"

    . . .------------------------------------

    -- pronounce every much the same.

    Just that, "happenin" 在發音時 , 少了'g' 的尾音 .
