關於一個英文文法問題。?

Jane shopped all day long looking for a new dress.

請問英文知識大大們,此句的shopped 後面為什麼直接用looking for,而不用加 to -Jane shopped all day long to look for a new dress. 呢?

謝謝。: )

    (1) ... looking for ...

    (2) ... to look for ...

    都是可以的說法.但是:(1)比較生動.(2)多用在說明"目的"而已
